Poolhouse

Voor ik begon met schetsen heb ik eerst nagedacht welke functie ik wou geven aan mijn poolhouse. Wou ik een badhuisje waar je je kunt douchen of wou ik een gasthuis voor 2 personen die er kunnen overnachten,...? Uiteindelijk koos ik simpel voor een buitenkeuken met eetgelegenheid. 

Before I started sketching, I first thought about what kind of function I wanted for my poolhouse. Did I want a poolhouse where people just can take a shower or did I want a poolhouse where two persons can sleep. After all I chose for a poolhouse with an outdoor kitchen and dining facilities. 


Daarna ben ik gaan brainstormen over de omgeving. Mijn voorkeur gaat altijd naar een rustige omgeving, waar je quality time hebt voor jezelf zonder dat er iemand je stoort, waar je kan genieten van de tropische natuur onder reusachtige bomen.

Then I started brainstorming about the area. My preference is always for a peaceful environment, where you have quality time for yourself without someone bothers you, where you can enjoy the tropical nature under huge trees.

Na wat kleine schetsjes wist ik al vrij snel wat ik wou en begon al met het definitieve uit te tekenen.

After some small sketches I already knew what I wanted pretty quickly and began to draw the final concept. 

Wat je waarschijnlijk wel al opviel werk ik vooral met rechte lijnen. Het poolhouse bestaat dus uit twee delen: een beneden- en bovenverdieping. In het benedenverdiep is er plaats voor een keuken en zitplaats waar je kan eten. Ook boven is dit mogelijk. Je kan via de grijze metalen ladder naar boven. Het afdak bestaat uit lamellen zodat je de schaduw kan regelen naar gelang de plaats van de zon.



What you probably already noticed, I work mainly with straight lines. The pool house consists of two parts: A ground floor and a second floor. On the ground floor there is room for a kitchen and a table where you can eat. Also on the second floor is this possible. You can go upstairs with the grey metal ladder. The shelter consists of blades so you can arrange the shadow according to the place of the Sun.






Omdat ik gebruik heb gemaakt van een 'opslagplaats' voor brandhout wou ik dat het houtmateriaal terugkwam in mijn gebouw. Daardoor koos ik voor de houten stroken. 

Because I've made use of a 'repository' for firewood, I wanted that the wood material came back in my building, wherefore I used the wooden strips.
